DVD 5030 KISS ME KATE

I saw the Broadway production with Drake and Morison, and this remake for tv is welcome. Some of tempi are a bit fast,but generally I find it better than MGM film,with its ridiculous first part of Cole Porter supposedly being in the Grahams living room etc etc . Too bad they didnt get Lisa Kirk for her original part too. Star of the performance was Morison for me..I know she did Carmen, and wonder what that was like. Some cuts from score, including Too Darn Hot, unfortunately.Pretty good quality considering.....

This is another B/W version of an older TV musical. The picture is not great, but the show itself is worth watching. While I only gave it 3 stars I do recommend it! Sound is fine (mono of course)
