DVD 5025 ROSSINI AT VERSAILLES

This is a veritable feast of Bel Canto,in great colour,and fantastic sound.Caballe sings like the Goddess she is,even playing the castanets coquetishly during Sam Rameys aria,and engaging in a vocal duel with Marilyn Horne in a duet from "Tancredi."The other singers all sing wonderfully in their party pieces,the only glitch is a rather camp performance of an actor playing Rossini,although he does look like him,my suggestion is BUY THIS,you will not be disappointed.
