DVD 7441 BRIGADOON

for those of us who love Lerner and Lowe and Brigadoon nothing is likely to ever change that. for those who have never seen Brigadoon and are new to Lerner and Lowe this production may not charm. The camera angle is awkward and almost fixed (but thanks to the camerman for doing it for us). There are some interesting scenes but on the whole the "Magic" is not there. The 1953 movie with Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse - is also disappointing and commits the worst sin of all - leaving out the songe "there but for you go I" and "from this day on". Fortunately this DVD retains all the music. If you don't like it - dont give up - this musical is better than this particular production.
